Plastic Plastic Plastic

We have become so used to using plastic in our everyday lives. Plastics take a very long time to break down and have become a big issue for our ocean life. For example, it is estimated that a simple plastic water bottle would take 450 years to break down! Isn't that hard to imagine? And our oceans are full of plastic. 

By 2050, it is estimated that there will be more plastic in our ocean than fish.

On March 30th 2017, the Charleston Aquarium will be hosting the Plastic Summit. It is a day where individuals, organizations, community leaders and corporations will gather to discuss the future of plastics and what we can do about our plastic problem. To learn more about the plastic summit, visit: ​http://plastic.scaquarium.org/

I am very excited to attend this event. I will be sure to share my experience and the different things I found engaging.
