Hello blog readers, I wanted to give you an update on what I have been up to. I am currently in Port Hedland, Western Australia to assist the Care for Hedland Environmental Association. I will be leading night walks, giving talks and assisting with the scientific monitoring as well. I have created a new blog to share more of my personal stories with travels, it is travelsandturtles.com. Go and check it out to follow along on this new journey! My position is just for 2 and a half months and then afterwards am looking at doing some more exploring until the loggerheads return.
Thanks for all of the support over the years!

I competed in the 3rd annual Turtle Trek 5 km Race again this year! It was another fun event filled with celebrating the work of the sea turtle hospital at the South Carolina Aquarium. Craig, one of our EBSP volunteers, also raced! It was his very first 5km. He did a great job by placing 9th in his age group. See below for some before and after pictures. I have also included my race certificate. I placed 4th in my age group, just missing out on a prize! Each year I have gotten faster and faster so I plan to get in the top three next year! Thanks for those who supported the aquarium through my donation page. The turtles thank you! |
