Edisto was hit less than a year ago by Hurricane Matthew and even though Hurricane Irma was far west, we got hit hard with storm surge and a tornado. Prior to the hurricane, all of the nesting posts and netting were removed from 9 nests. We are not sure how the nests fared during the storm but we are going to attempt to relocate them. So hopefully we can collect data from them. The good news is that we have had a successful season, with 12,847 hatchlings emerged and a hatch success rate of 85.7%. I am looking at putting together an end of the season video - so stay tuned for that!
